Place all the ingredients except the honey or sugar in a saucepan or medium size pot. Bring to boil then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Strain the hot tea through a fine mesh strainer into a teapot. Press gently on the apples to release all the liquid. Discard the apples.
