Spread out the cherries on a dish towel and let dry for 24 hours. Cut off the first half of the stems and pack the cherries into one or two sterilized Mason jars. Add two of the cloves, a cinnamon stick, and a heaping tablespoon of sugar to each jar. Fill the jar or jars with vodka so that the fruit is completely covered with the alcohol. Seal the jars and store them in a cool, dark, dry place for at least 2 months before using.Italian Cherries in Alcohol (Ciliege Sotto Spirito)
