Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 fresh lemon, best if organic

  • water

  • ice cubes

  • fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Method

  • Scoop 1/4 cup of sugar into a jar with a lid. Wash a lemon, quarter it, and drop the slices in the jar. Using a wooden spoon, smush the lemon pieces into the sugar until all the juice runs out. Add ice cubes and fill up the jar with water, almost to the top. Screw on the lid, and shake for about 30 seconds or until all the sugar has dissolved. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, pop in a straw, and slurp.
